Rocky is a special needs pug looking for his happily-ever-after.
He has Mega Esophogus.

Rocky has Mega Esophagus (ME), an incurable but manageable congenital disease.  ME is a defect in the esophagus - he doesn't have the full ability to swallow his food and have it successfully reach his stomach. ME dogs eat prescription food made into “kibble” meatballs, and are fed twice daily in a specially designed Bailey Chair. The key to successfully managing ME is to feed the dog UPRIGHT in their Bailey Chair, where they MUST stay for 30 minutes after each meal. Gravity, and this upright position, guides the food to the stomach. Meds are also used to treat the symptoms.

ME dogs are at high risk for aspiration pneumonia if not properly managed. They can ONLY be fed their prescription food and given water while in their Bailey Chairs. There are absolutely no exceptions to this as straying from this care could result in serious complications or death. Food and water CANNOT be left down for "grazing" as this can be dangerous for him.

Other than these feeding requirements and the related risks, this boy is 100% pug. He is playful and sweet, crate trained and housebroken and fine with kids (10+). Rocky DOES have an issue with other dogs eating near him - he's food aggressive. He should be fed out of sight of other pets.  A fenced yard is preferable because this guy LOVES to run. *Outdoor time must be 100% supervised to ensure he doesn't eat grass, sticks, or anything off the ground.  This is important inside the home as well.
